Dance, Punnet Squares and Creative Juices

This past weekend brought with it an exciting new season of life ~ rehearsing for my next musical theater production. Choreography rehearsals began on Friday, and over the weekend I danced a total of 14 hours. I came out of the weekend with sore hamstrings, tired feet, and an aching back, but despite the pain, I came out of the weekend with indescribable joy. Surrounded by people I love, perfecting new dances, learning new skills...It all just puts a grin on my face. I think dancing just about the only thing in the world that makes me so sore and so happy at the same time.

Living at the studio all weekend meant, of course, that I had to cram all of my homework in today. I always manage to get to Monday and think, "Where did my weekend go? Why do I do this to myself?" I guess this question can be simply answered by the fact that any human being would rather spend their precious free time snuggling with a blanket, drinking chai and watching a Hallmark movie than studying punnet squares and pedigree charts. Seriously, that's just common sense!

Well, I have given up on trying to figure out the hodge podge of gibberish and diagrams that my biology teacher calls a worksheet, and I decided to expend my creative juices for the day on a blog post. Do you ever get those days when you are just itching to do something creative; just longing to break out the glue gun? Well, today I had one of those days. Unfortunately, however, I had to suppress my creative juices all day in order to put my energy toward deciphering scientific code. Ugh.

So, what we have here is a tangle of my excitements, frustrations, and held-in-way-too-long creative juices all wrapped up into three paragraphs

Story. Of. My. Life.

The Complete Vintage Bunting

Months ago I posted here about my vintage bunting and chalkboard project. Finally, as of October, the whole project is complete. I know, it's taken me long enough! Despite the five month delay in completion, I absolutely adore the way this project turned out! Hope you like it!

He's Always Teaching...I'm Always Learning

God is so good! He is always revealing new things to me and He has a way of doing it just at the right time. The past few months have been a season of great growth and learning, and He is teaching me amazing things!

He is teaching me...

I need to have faith! I often forget or take for granted that He really does listen to my prayers. He has been teaching me in every day life, that when I talk to Him, He answers. I have been seeing answers to even the smallest prayers in my life... He hears me!!!

It really does not matter what others think of me! I just need to love Jesus and the people around me with all I am, and in the end, the only opinion that matters is His!

When I stress too much over doing everything right (loving others, being humble, being patient, having a gentle spirit, praying continually, casting my cares upon Him, etc etc etc) all I gain is a higher stress level and a lack of joy. Instead of trying to do everything right on my own, I just need to fall more in love with Him and draw near to Him. When I do this, the rest follows naturally.

Time with Him and in the word is so sweet, and I need to have more of it! My quiet time often gets pushed off for other things on my schedule when really I should make Him my number one priority. He has been showing me that as I draw near to Him and spend time with Him, He will draw near to me in amazing ways! Jesus is addicting! When I am consistent in my time with Him, I don't want to stop!

Photo Adventure Part III: The Tracks

The last stop on our photo-taking adventure was an abandoned caboose alongside the railroad tracks in town. I absolutely loved the vintage/rustic style it had. Overall, I think that this group of pictures is my favorite.

That's all for my photo adventure. Have a good day!
